FALL LECTURE SERIES (Oct. 21, Nov. 18 & Dec. 2)

Eating to Live and Living To Eat Nutrition and Dieting The Path To Good Health, a three-part free lecture series, occurred in the Fall of 1990. The first series took place on Sunday, October 21, 1990, and discussed The Psychological Aspects of Food. Dr. Michael Nussbaum, Director of the Eating Disorders Center in the Division of Adolescent Medicine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, and Pam Reichert, a registered dietician from Long Island Jewish Medical Center, shared the podium.

The second lecture was held on Sunday, November 18, 1990 and was concerned with Consumer Rights in Relation to Nutrition and Food. The Honorable Mark Green, Commissioner of the Department of Consumer Affairs of the City of New York, and Henry Gilgoff, a consumer reporter from New York Newsday, were the experts addressing this significant topic of interest.

The third and final lecture occurred on December 2, 1990, and was concerned with Diet. Exercise and Weight Control. Dr. Harvey Katzleff from North Shore University Hospital was our guest lecturer.

Over 250 people attended this Series and took advantage of the opportunity to ask specific questions of the guest speakers.

The positive feedback was wonderful and the Council is now in the process of finalizing plans for yet another exciting lecture series for the Fall of 1991.
